“And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, Of which she has said, ‘These are my wages that my lovers have given me.’ So I will make them a forest, And the beasts of the field shall eat them. I will punish her For the days of the Baals to which she burned incense. She decked herself with her earrings and jewelry, And went after her lovers; 'But Me she forgot,' says the LORD.” (Hosea 2:12-13)
What a terrible thing to do.. to forget someone who has nurtured you and given you good things, marvelous things. Forgetting someone who has provided for you in all circumstances is a very ungracious and tacky thing to do. HUMANS DO IT HOURLY.. and then expect the Mighty God of the 'Multiverse' to overlook their infidelity! There is a punishment for those who would forget God and not desire to retain Him in their knowledge. [Read Romans 1] Oh, the hurt to God when we dishonor Him and dishonor our relationship with Him, by running after other gods... those things/thoughts/actions/people who claim a priority in our lives above our time with the Master. We SHALL pay for that! Please do not forget the Father and His Word today.
