“A son honors his father, And a servant his master. If then I am the Father, Where is My honor? And if I am a Master, Where is My reverence? Says the LORD of hosts.” (Malachi 1:6a)
There is a truism here.. sons honor their fathers and employees or servants obey the one who pays their wages. If Jehovah God is our Heavenly Father... how do you and I honor Him? If He is the Master, where is His respect? These are valid questions right now, and were even in years past, and certainly will be in years to come. Has awe and reverence slipped in the home.. in the church? I think so. Do fathers and mothers DEMAND respect or just settle for half-hearted “whatever” from their children? Is the current condition of families the fault of the adult or the child? This coming year.. consider awe and reverence.. what they mean.. and how much we owe them to God, as Creator, Sustainer, Savior and Lord.
